100 Thieves Are In Good Shape
100 Thieves kicked off their VALORANT Esports World Cup campaign with a 2-0 sweep of Rex Regum Qeon, who did not present much of a challenge for the Americas team.
The series started with 100 Thieves taking Ascent 13-10, with a strong showing on the defensive side, taking the first half 8-4. While 100 Thieves had to dig deep to stay afloat on Ascent, they ran over Rex Regum Qeon on Breeze, winning the map 13-5 to close out the series 2-0.
Timotino had an outstanding performance on the day, posting a 1.37 rating with a 42/28/11 combined K/D/A. However, vora, Asuna, and Cryocells did not disappoint either, all averaging 1.10 or higher.
Admittedly, RRQ are not among the top teams attending the event, so it is fair to say that 100T have not been properly tested.

BBL Esports Look Sharp
BBL Esports turned many heads with their performance in the first round of the Esports World Cup. While they entered the tournament as dark horses and a team who’ve been widely inconsistent, BBL proved their worth by beating EDward Gaming.
It was a very entertaining game, which started with EDG taking Lotus with 18-16. BBL then struck back with 13-7 on Ascent and closed it out with 13-3 on Sunset. The complete dominance on the final two maps are highly inspiring, proving that BBL have what it takes to compete with the best.
On the other side, EDward Gaming did not play particularly well on the day, so while BBL Esports deserve praise for the win, they also have a lot more to show, namely against stronger teams.
