NRG stunned the pre-tournament favourites, Paper Rex, in the opening round of Group B, winning the series with 9-13 on Fracture, 13-5 on Lotus, and 13-10 on Breeze.
Seeing NRG take down Paper Rex was not a major shock, as NRG are one of the world’s best teams. Despite their iffy display in Masters London, NRG have already proven their worth with bronze medals from Americas Kickoff and Stage 1, as well as Masters Santiago.
Admittedly, NRG have not made a name for themselves as a consistent team. But their ceiling is very high, which is a good enough reason to have faith in them and their chances to shine in France.
