Poland are having a strong start to the European Championship 2026, winning all four games so far and currently sitting in first place in Group B.

The Poles haven't dropped a single set so far, beating Portugal, Israel and North Macedonia with identical 3-0 scorelines.

Yesterday, they locked horns with the then-unbeaten Ukraine, which was supposed to be a more challenging contest, but earned another victory in straight sets.

Poland are coming off a huge success in the Volleyball Nations League 2026, beating Ukraine 3-1, Slovenia 3-0 and USA 3-2 to win the final tournament in early August, while also being the reigning EuroVolley champions from 2023.

Bulgaria Benefiting From Home-Court Advantage

Bulgaria are also playoff-bound after securing three victories in four rounds at the European Championship 2026, taking advantage of being one of the co-hosts, with Group B matches being played in Sofia.

They had zero problems in their first two appearances against underdogs North Macedonia and Portugal, winning both games in straight sets, while losing to Ukraine 3-1 in the follow-up clash despite being tagged as favorites.

The Bulgarians returned to winning ways two days ago. After losing the first set to minnows Israel, they stepped up and won three sets in a row.
