H2H

Liverpool have a 25-9 advantage against Brighton, alongside 12 draws.

Liverpool Rarely Lose

Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool are in-form and have avoided defeat in 12 of their previous 13 fixtures. The Reds have lost once in seven Premier League games, drawing three.

The Merseysiders’ only loss of the season was a 3-0 home defeat against league leaders Man City. Liverpool hit back with a three-match winning streak, starting with victories over LASK 6-3 and Brentford 2-1.

Iraola’s outfit then sealed a 4-3 comeback home win against Villarreal at home in the Champions League. The Reds were 2-0 down, had 2.37 XG and Alexis MacAllister, Ronald Araujo and Florian Wirtz scored to complete the comeback.

High-Flying Brighton Have Impressed

Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton are third in the Premier League table. The Sussex side have won five, drawn once and conceded just five goals in seven games.

The Seagulls are on an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions, scoring 23 and conceding three. Brighton have won four consecutive league games, beating Coventry 5-0, Arsenal 3-0, Sunderland 2-0 and Palace 5-0.

That winning streak ended with a cagey 0-0 draw at Jablonec in the Conference League. Hurzeler’s team controlled the contest with 26 shots, 1.42-0.73 XG and couldn’t score the winning goal.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez; Alexis Mac Allister, Rayn Granenberch; Rio Ngumoha, Florian Wirtz, Cody Gakpo; Alexander Isak

Defenders Conor Bradley and Geovani Leoni and striker Hugo Ekitike are ruled out with long-term injuries.

Winger Victor Munoz, midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and defender Jeremie Frimpong are unlikely to feature due to injury.

Andoni Iraola provided a recent update on Szoboszlai’s recovery and said, “we need more patience with him”

Brighton (4-2-3-1): Bart Verbruggen; Ferdi Kadioglu, Luka Vuskovic, Lewis Dunk, Olivier Boscagli; Pascal Gross, Chema Andres; Diego Gomez, Jack Hinshelwood, Maxim De Cuyper; Charalampos Kostoulas

Attackers Evan Ferguson, Stefanos Tzimas, Kaoru Mitoma and Zadok Yohanna are sidelined with injuries.

Winger Yankuba Minteh and defender Mats Wieffer could return to the squad on Sunday. Fabian Hurzeler was hopeful that the duo would be available and said, “With Minteh and Mats Wieffer I think we will see a quite quick return.”

Verdict

Liverpool are a tough-to-beat side and Brighton keep things tight in the Premier League. Both sides are in form and a draw has good value on Sunday.
