Man United vs Bournemouth Preview

Man United are out of form and look shaky in defence. Bournemouth are BTTS specialists on the road and a Premier League high-scorer is likely.

4 BTTS Results in a Row for Bournemouth

  • Man United have seen BTTS in their last 2 games.
  • Bournemouth have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 4 away matches.
  • Bournemouth have seen BTTS in 4 consecutive away EPL games.

H2H - Recent High-Scorers

Man United have a 14-5 advantage against Bournemouth, alongside seven draws.

Man United Look Fragile

Michael Carrick is under pressure at Man United after a poor start to the 2026/27 campaign. The Red Devils are winless in seven consecutive games and have conceded 13 goals.

United’s downturn started with back-to-back losses against Man City 1-0 and Brighton 3-2 at home. They allowed over 1 XG in each defeat.

The winless run continued with three 1-1 Premier League draws against Fulham, Tottenham and Leeds.

Carrick’s side had their heaviest defeat of the season on Tuesday following a 4-1 Champions League loss at Como. United conceded after two minutes, shipped three more after half time and allowed 2.11 XG.

Bournemouth Score and Concede a Lot

Bournemouth get amongst the goals and have scored at least once in 23 of their last 24 in all competitions. They have seen BTTS in 17 of those fixtures.

The Cherries were undefeated in five matches from August to September, scoring 11 and conceding six. Consecutive defeats against Liverpool 1-0 and Chelsea away 5-1 followed.

Marco Rose’s side have won three matches in a row since the Chelsea loss. That upturn started with a 3-0 Europa League home win against Sturm Graz and a 2-0 victory over Sunderland.

The south coast side continued their strong recent form with a 3-0 Europa League home win against AC Milan. Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier scored in the opening 32 minutes and Amine Adli added a third in the second half.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Man United (4-2-3-1): Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Mazraoui; Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos; Bruno Fernandes, Youri Tielemans, Amad Diallo; Bryan Mbeumo

Defender Lisandro Martinez, forward Marcus Rashford and defender Ayden Heaven missed the Como game. The trio are injury doubts for Bournemouth.

Midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo, full-back Luke Shaw and attackers Patrick Dorgu and Benjamin Sesko are ruled out.

Captain Bruno Fernandes was critical of Carrick’s tactics against Como. The midfielder called out the team’s setup and said, "That's on the manager and staff to see, not me."

Bournemouth (4-4-2): Djorde Petrovic; Adam Smith, James Hill, Antonio Silva, Adrien Truffert; Rayan, Christie, Tyler Adams, Marcus Tavernier; Justin Kluivert, Evanilson

Defenders Julian and midfielder Alex Scott are sidelined with injuries. Midfielder Alex Toth came off injured in the second half against AC Milan and is an injury doubt.

Eli Junior Kroupi is likely to return to the squad against Man United. Marco Rose shared that the attacker is ready to play and said, “Maybe we can have him for some minutes in Manchester.”

Verdict

Man United let in a lot of goals and Bournemouth are high-scoring. BTTS and over 2.5 goals have good value in this Premier League encounter.
