Finland’s offensive power surges when Lauri Markkanen is available, adding a significant edge in their upcoming game against a fast-paced French team. Both sides favor rapid possessions, suggesting a high-scoring contest is likely. The recommended betting option is Over 161.5 total points, given the attacking strengths on both sides and the game tempo expected.

Match Preview

These two teams were most dominant squads in the group, sharing 1st place with 4-1 records. Who will get to carry over the maximum number of points to the next stage?

France Looking to Finish Top of the Group

France have already clinched a place in the next phase thanks to a 4-1 record, although their performances have not always been convincing.

Les Bleus looked dominant in their home games, crushing Belgium 79-63 and Hungary 98-79, but encountered far more problems on the road, suffering a 83-75 defeat to Finland before narrowly edging Hungary 74-71 despite entering that game as heavy favorites.

France were pushed hard again on Friday away to Belgium but eventually secured an 80-72 victory with a significantly strengthened lineup. Rudy Gobert controlled the paint with 11 rebounds, while Bilal Coulibaly finished as the team's leading scorer with 13 points.

Finland Chasing a Fifth Straight Victory

Finland have also enjoyed an impressive qualifying campaign, securing progression after winning four of their five matches.

Their only defeat came in the opening round against Hungary, where they squandered a 21-point first-half deficit and lost 89-82. The Finns quickly responded by upsetting France 83-76 before recording back-to-back wins over Belgium, 71-66 and 78-75.

On Friday, Finland justified their favorite status with an 85-77 home victory over Hungary. NBA star Lauri Markkanen led the way with 24 points, four rebounds and two assists in another outstanding display.

Verdict

Finland become a far more dangerous offensive team whenever Lauri Markkanen is available, while France also prefer an up-tempo style with plenty of quick possessions. That combination makes Over 161.5 points the standout betting option.
