Hungary vs Belgium Live Stream & Tips – Stick to Points in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers

Belgium’s recent matches have consistently featured low scores, signaling a defensive playing style or limited offensive output. With the team having minimal motivation heading into their next game, analysts are not expecting fireworks or high scoring. The recommendation is to bet on the total points being under 155.5. This pick is based on current trends and the lack of stakes for Belgium.

Match Preview

Belgium are arguably one of the biggest disappointments in the qualifying campaign so far, failing to reach the next stage. Hungary are aiming for another set of points to boost their chances in phase two.

Hungary Chasing Important Points

Both of Hungary’s victories came in the opening week in late November, pulling off an upset by defeating Finland 89-82, where Zoltan Perl starred with 25 points, then outplaying Belgium 87-85 on the road.

They offered good resistance in the third round against favored France at home but ultimately lost 74-71, then got smashed 98-79 in Le Mans a couple of days later, allowing too many open three-pointers to the opposition (who made 17 of 31 attempts).

Hungary had a decent first half against favored Finland on Friday, shooting well inside the arc (28/45 on two-pointers) but ultimately had to settle for an 85-77 defeat.

Belgium Ending a Difficult Campaign

Belgium’s chances of reaching the next stage of the FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers are gone after securing zero victories in five rounds.

Only the opening loss to France 79-63 was convincing, followed by tight encounters against Hungary 87-85 and Finland 71-66.

Belgium’s efforts to end this losing streak in another clash against Finland in early March were unsuccessful, losing 78-75 in Helsinki in dramatic fashion. Loic Schwartz was their standout performer with 19 points and four rebounds.

On Friday, they were labelled massive underdogs at home against a strengthened France side, offered solid resistance but not enough for an upset, losing 80-72 mainly due to a high number of turnovers (15).

Verdict

A majority of Belgium’s matches have ended with a low number of points so far, and since they will lack a proper motive here, I don’t expect to see a flashy contest. Under 155.5 is the pick.
