Serbia vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Live Stream & Tips – Handicap in Play in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers

Serbia comes into the matchup against Bosnia & Herzegovina as clear favorites, especially after a mixed performance against Switzerland. While Serbia is expected to win, the 22.5-point handicap is considered excessive. The key recommendation is to back Bosnia & Herzegovina to stay within the handicap, as they are likely to keep the game more competitive than the spread suggests.

Match Preview

The first head-to-head clash between these sides was quite dramatic in Sarajevo in late 2025. Both teams need points here to improve their position heading into the second phase.

Serbia Tagged Favorites

Serbia were surely hoping for more than two victories after four World Cup 2027 qualifying rounds, but truth be told they rarely could count on big names like Bogdan Bogdanović, Nikola Milutinov, Nikola Jokić and others during this cycle.

The Eagles pulled off an incredible comeback in the opening round against Switzerland, winning 90-86 with Dušan Ristić orchestrating the attack with 24 points, then came from behind again to defeat Bosnia & Herzegovina 74-72 in Sarajevo.

Dušan Alimpijević’s side were beaten in both appearances against a stacked Turkey team, 82-78 in Belgrade and 94-86 in Istanbul, but returned to winning ways on Friday with a dominant 97-73 victory over Switzerland. Jokić starred with 22 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists.

Bosnia & Herzegovina Looking for Revenge Win

Bosnia & Herzegovina secured progression to the second phase with two wins from their opening five matches but will look to carry over as many points as possible.

They opened the qualifiers with back-to-back defeats to Turkey, 93-71 away, and Serbia, 74-72 at home, where they wasted a late lead in the closing minutes.

Their response came with victories over Switzerland, 84-60 and 91-60, in the third and fourth rounds. Džanan Musa scored 25 points in the second meeting, while Adin Vrabac contributed 15 points and seven rebounds in the first.

Bosnia & Herzegovina were tagged as underdogs on Friday against Turkey in Zenica, stayed level for more than 35 minutes but ultimately lost 82-75. Luka Garza had a great game with 27 points and eight rebounds.

Verdict

Serbia had a couple of ups and downs in their most recent clash against Switzerland. While I have little doubt they will win this matchup, a 22.5-point handicap is a bit too much to cover. I will back Bosnia & Herzegovina to stay competitive.
