Cincinnati Bengals Won Season Opener

Cincinnati head out on the road for the first time looking to build on a season-opening victory against Tampa Bay.

The Bengals went ahead midway through the first quarter of that matchup, and led the rest of the way as they closed out a 33-27 victory over the Buccaneers.

Joe Burrow finished the game 25/35 for 254 yards, one touchdown and one interception, with Mike Gesicki being his favourite target, hauling in five of his seven targets for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Chase Brown contributed 78 total yards and a touchdown, while Ja’Marr Chase was surprisingly quiet as he had just 12 yards off two catches.

On defense, Boye Mafe recorded a sack and a forced fumble, while both Barrett Carter and Myles Murphy each had half a sack and a forced fumble.

Houston Texans Beaten At Home In Week 1

Houston are playing at home for the second weekend in a row, and they will be desperate to get off the mark on Sunday.

The Texans opened up the campaign at home to Buffalo, and despite lofty expectations surrounding the defense, they shipped 36 points in a 36-31 defeat to the Bills.

CJ Stroud went 26/38 for 274 yards and two touchdowns, but gave up two fumbles and was sacked three times in the loss.

David Montgomery put up 79 total yards and three touchdowns in his debut, while Nico Collins led Houston in receiving with 75 yards and a score.

The Texans struggled on the other side of the football though, as they gave up 409 total yards and four touchdowns.

Verdict

CIN Bengals @ HOU Texans

Houston’s defense did not live up to expectations last week, and we do expect improvement here.

However, Joe Burrow and this CIncinnati offense is capable of doing damage and they arrive on the back of a good home win over the Bucs, so give us the Bengals and the free points here.
